Dr. Samuel L. Ahn
Optometrist

It is my pleasure and honor to serve as your neighborhood eye care professional. When I founded Optica Vision Care, my goal was to create a family-friendly practice where patients always come first and feel genuinely cared for.

My commitment to service began early, volunteering as a science and math tutor for disadvantaged students through the Upward Bound program. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology and Biochemistry from the University of Maryland, then spent several years conducting cancer research at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and Bethesda Naval Medical Center.

I received my Doctorate of Optometry with honors from the University of California, Berkeley. My clinical training includes rotations at the Navajo Indian Hospital in Shiprock, New Mexico; the American Lake VA Hospital in Tacoma, Washington; and a LASIK surgery center in Bellevue, Washington. These diverse experiences have shaped my comprehensive, patient-centered approach to eye care.

I take great pride in listening carefully to my patient's needs and finding the best solutions tailored to each individual. I am fully dedicated to doing what is best for those under my care.

Outside the office, I enjoy reading nonfiction, listening to music, pretending to play guitar, biking, golfing, and hiking. I live in Issaquah with my wife and our dog and am grateful to be part of this wonderful community.

Dr. Anna Chowaniec
Optometrist

I was born and raised in Sammamish, Washington. I received a B.S. in Biology with a Chemistry minor from Pepperdine University, and graduated with my Doctorate of Optometry from UC Berkeley. I practiced in various settings including Miami VA Healthcare System and Vandenberg Air Force Base. After working in private practice in Los Angeles, I am thrilled to be back on the Eastside serving the community I grew up in. My interests include lifestyle medicine, education and public health. I co-manage ophthalmic medical procedures and LASIK, and take pride in providing my patients with the highest level of care. I love being able to help my patients with their ocular needs and wellbeing.   In my free time you may find me enjoying one of the many beautiful trails in the Pacific Northwest. I also enjoy yoga, reading, spending time with my two cats, and trying new plant-based recipes.
